IQOS 3.0 DUO Upgrade Coming Soon
IQOS announced the IQOS 3 DUO ahead of its fifth anniversary, with sales starting through the online store and official channels from September 25, followed by wider retail rollout.
On the occasion of IQOS’s 5th anniversary, IQOS announced that the IQOS 3 DUO will be available from September 25 through the IQOS online store and the official IQOS LINE account. The suggested retail price is 9,980 yen (tax included), and the tax-inclusive price will remain unchanged even after the consumption tax increase in October. It is scheduled to be released sequentially on September 26 at 9 IQOS stores nationwide, and on October 14 at 34 IQOS stores nationwide (Yamada Denki) and 18 all-IQOS locations (Don Quijote).

As an upgraded version, the IQOS3.0 DUO’s main improvement is functionality: one holder can be used for 2 consecutive tobacco sticks. Compared with the IQOS3.0 holder, the DUO holder has 2 lights on it. This upgrade is somewhat similar to the upgrade from IQOS2.4 to IQOS 2.4 PLUS. According to the official claim, the IQOS3.0 DUO cuts charging time by half compared with the previous generation.
