Poland’s lower house of parliament has backed a comprehensive ban on the sale of e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches to minors, including both disposable and reusable e-cigarettes, regardless of nicotine content. At yesterday’s session (May 21), 417 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, one voted against it, and 10 abstained. The bill will be submitted to the Senate and the Sejm for consideration, and if approved, it will be sent to the president for signing into law.

The bill would also restrict the use of nicotine-free e-cigarettes in public places, in line with rules already applied to traditional tobacco products and nicotine-containing e-cigarettes.
Although Poland already has laws banning the sale of cigarettes to minors, the legislation has not covered other forms of nicotine intake.
