PMI has launched the IQOS iluma i in Japan, the most innovative addition to its growing heated tobacco product portfolio. The launch marks the 10th anniversary of IQOS, which first debuted in Nagoya, Japan, in 2014.
“We are leveraging science, a world-leading brand, and commercial capabilities to provide better alternatives for our consumers,” said PMI Chief Executive Officer Jacek Olczak in a statement. “This anniversary gives us an opportunity to renew our smoke-free vision and pursue our ambition that more than two-thirds of our total net revenue will come from heated tobacco products by 2030.”

The IQOS iluma i series is available in Japan in three devices: IQOS iluma i PRIME, IQOS iluma i, and IQOS iluma i ONE. All three devices offer a range of highly adaptable new features.
A new touchscreen on the holder allows users to quickly and easily view information related to their experience. To personalize the experience, IQOS iluma i introduces a new Pause Mode. By swiping up or down on the touchscreen, users can pause and resume according to their preferences.
The new IQOS iluma i also includes smart features that help extend holder battery life. In addition, IQOS iluma i is made with aluminum produced using renewable energy, while the inner fabric layer of the leather-wrapped IQOS iluma i Prime is made from 100% recycled plastic.
