KT&G will release two models in total: the Lil Aible and the Lil Aible Premium. The premium version comes in one option, while the standard model is available in four colors: "Ultra Blue," "Air White," "Enamel Red," and "Tan Brown."

The Lil Aible is designed to support three types of dedicated tobacco sticks on a single device. In addition, it features simple one-button operation while retaining convenient functions from existing products, such as auto-heating, auto-cleaning, and up to three consecutive uses.

It is equipped with smart AI technology to provide an optimal user experience from preheating to charging. The Lil Aible Premium retains the performance of the base model while improving convenience with the addition of an OLED touch screen.

Messages, call notifications, weather, and calendar information can also be checked through a dedicated app, maximizing user convenience and product differentiation.

The Lil Aible and Lil Aible Premium are priced at KRW 110,000 (US$80.59) and KRW 200,000, respectively. Starting November 16, they will be available at 8,500 convenience stores in Seoul, KT&G’s five lil MINIMALIUM flagship stores, and its online mall.

Customers must verify their age before purchasing the devices online.

As KT&G’s main rival Philip Morris launched the new heated tobacco IQOS ILUMA series in South Korea last month, competition in the country’s vaping device market is expected to intensify next year. Philip Morris opened the South Korean market for heated tobacco products with its IQOS lineup.

KT&G’s third-quarter net profit rose 29% year over year due to increased exports and a stronger U.S. dollar. At present, 90% of the company’s sales come from its cigarette business division, while 10% comes from its heated tobacco division.

The company has been stepping up efforts to increase sales from its non-cigarette business segments.
