It is understood that the Smoking (Public Health) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021 came into effect in Hong Kong in April this year, prohibiting the import of tobacco products such as e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and herbal cigarettes. This has impacted Hong Kong's air cargo volume. This means that products transported by truck to Hong Kong for re-export overseas can no longer be transshipped through Hong Kong, but air cargo transshipments and goods remaining on planes and ships are exempt. A survey showed that the annual air cargo affected by this ban reaches 330,000 tons, with the value of re-exported goods estimated to exceed 120 billion RMB.<\/span><\/div>
