On February 22, Taat Global Alternatives announced that it has signed a letter of intent with the American subsidiary of Shanghai Shunho New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. to undertake the development of white-label heated tobacco devices and Taat's proprietary smokeless and nicotine-free heated sticks. It has been shown that heated tobacco products retain users well compared to other cigarette alternatives. Taat has identified opportunities to expand its existing international market share in the tobacco industry and plans to enter the heated tobacco category with a smokeless and nicotine-free product, which will be the first of its kind in the U.S. market.

In addition to sourcing heated Taat sticks made from the company's Beyond Tobacco materials, Shunho's U.S. subsidiary will also provide proprietary heated tobacco devices on a white-label basis, which will be commercialized under Taat's brand in the U.S. Uniquely, the device will offer reverse compatibility with heated tobacco sticks provided by the company's competitors as well as Taat's original, smooth, and menthol heated sticks.

Shunho, headquartered in Shanghai, is a well-known tobacco service company that works closely with international tobacco companies. Under Shunho's leadership, a range of companies are currently developing next-generation e-cigarettes and vaping products. Taat will be the first foreign third party to collaborate with Shunho's subsidiary on white-label production of heated tobacco products.

Additionally, Taat's heated tobacco products will be distributed through various internal and third-party e-commerce channels in the U.S.

Taat CEO Setti Coscarella stated in a press release: "We chose to focus on the heated tobacco segment because it is the stickiest option among all available cigarette alternatives. The tobacco industry has invested heavily in cultivating a user base for heated tobacco, to the extent that it may even completely replace major brand combustible cigarettes in certain markets."

"We are excited to leverage innovative technology to create a unique nicotine-free and tobacco-free experience for consumers who currently use and enjoy this method of heated tobacco. Because Taat's heated tobacco devices will be used with Taat sticks as well as certain competitors' heated tobacco sticks, we believe this strategy truly embodies our company's values, providing consumers with the choices and flexibility they deserve."
