KT&G Named Korea's IP Management Company of the Year

On December 8, KT&G received the Commissioner’s Award from the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) at the annual award ceremony co-hosted by KIPO and the Korea Intellectual Property Association (KINPA).<\/span><\/div>

The award ceremony aims to recognize companies that contribute to the development of national industry by enhancing their intellectual property capabilities and reflecting this in their management activities. KT&G has reportedly received praise for its creation of intellectual property and rights (including patents) and its management of intellectual property.<\/span><\/div>

From 2016 to 2019, KT&G's number of patent applications increased from 43 to 431.<\/span><\/div>

Chi-beom Oh, head of KT&G's R&D department, stated: "Since receiving this award, KT&G's technology has been recognized again since being honored by the Prime Minister on the day of invention in June." "We will continue to lead the global tobacco market by focusing on developing our own technology and applying for patents."<\/span><\/div>
