Five Arrested for Selling Heated Tobacco Sticks in 3.12 Million Yuan Case

Five people were arrested in Chengdu in a 3.12 million yuan illegal business case involving heated tobacco sticks, as enforcement against heated tobacco products continues.

It has been more than a year since the strict investigation of heating non-incendiary smoke bombs, and no signs of stopping have been seen yet, and actions are still being carried out.

 

Recently, the Procuratorate of Wenjiang District in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province approved the arrest of Wang Moumou, Shi Moumou, Yu Moumou, Lu Moumou, and Cai for illegally operating heating non-combustible cigarettes on suspicion of illegal business operations.

 

The case was transferred to the public security organs for investigation by the Wenjiang District Tobacco Monopoly Bureau relying on the connection mechanism between the two laws. nbsp;

 

It is understood that from May 2018 to July 2019, without going through the tobacco exclusive license procedures, Wang Moumou met Russian sellers of heating non-combustible cigarettes while working in Moscow, Russia. The sellers of Russian, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan versions of heating non-combustible cigarettes smuggled into China through human express delivery, etc., have different flavors such as rum, original flavor, mint, grape, amber, and matcha.

 

Wang Moumou and others advertise through Baidu Post Bar, WeChat Group, WeChat Circle of Friends, etc., contact Shangxia, customers and settlement through WeChat and Alipay, and negotiate with customers on variety, quantity,prices, sell it to the next store and customers across the country by non-real-name express delivery. According to the record,according to calculations, the amount involved in the case involving the above five people was more than 3.12 million yuan.

 

The prosecutor handling the case introduced that according to the relevant provisions of the Tobacco Monopoly Law of the People's Republic of China, my country implements a monopoly licensing system for tobacco; according to relevant documents on the characterization of new tobacco products issued by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration in 2018, heated non-incendiary cigarettes are also tobacco products; therefore, those who illegally operate heated non-incendiary cigarettes are suspected of illegal business.
