IQOS Arrives in Manchester, UK
Currently, PMI has opened two stores in Manchester, one in St. Ann's Square and one on Princess Street. They have also recruited a professional local team to help the city's 360,000 smokers learn how to better transition from cigarettes to safer alternatives.
"This product (we) cost £4 billion and took ten years of research and development. I believe IQOS can accelerate Manchester's journey to becoming a smoke-free city."
Meanwhile, there are four stores in London, with plans to open four more in Bristol.
PMI's Managing Director, Peter Nixon, believes IQOS will help convert one-sixth of smokers in Manchester. "I believe IQOS will change the game for smokers in Manchester; heated tobacco technology can provide a better alternative to cigarettes."
In addition to the four stores in London and the two in Manchester, as well as the planned four stores in Bristol, PMI is also considering opening more IQOS stores in the UK and is looking to establish hundreds of IQOS stores across the country.
PMI stated that according to the company's vision of a "smoke-free future," it will continue to invest heavily in better alternatives for adult smokers, or else people will continue to smoke.
So far, it has invested over $6 billion in "developing, evaluating, and commercializing innovative products to create a smoke-free world."
