Why Were Vaping Videos Suddenly Removed From Shopping Sites?
Some friends reported that starting from yesterday, June 13, Bilibili suddenly began removing e-cigarette-related videos in large numbers, without warning or pattern, and many e-cigarette self-media accounts were not spared.

The removed videos were marked with a notice stating, “This video contains inappropriate content and has not passed the review. If you have any questions, please submit an appeal for feedback.”
Upon searching for e-cigarettes on Bilibili, I found that there are indeed very few related videos available, with only videos featuring smoke appearing.

According to the official website of the National Standardization Administration, the national standard for e-cigarettes has gone through several stages including “online public notice, drafting, soliciting opinions, and review,” and is currently in the “approval in progress” stage. Tmall has also sensed the trend and changed its business scope to include the sale of “e-cigarettes” (including online sales), and has updated its business contact personnel. In the sales scope (including online sales), “e-cigarettes” are listed first, indicating a bright future due to the upcoming national standards for e-cigarettes. Why then did Bilibili take the unusual step of removing e-cigarette-related videos? Perhaps there are new regulations regarding video supervision for e-cigarettes, and I will continue to monitor the situation to find out the reason!
