Does IQOS Contain Highly Toxic Substances? No Solid Evidence So Far

A lab report noted possible risks from toxic substances when certain IQOS filter materials are heated, but so far there is no solid evidence confirming actual detection during use.

The discovery was made and reported by laboratories commissioned by the Blue Cross of Bern, Solothurn and Fribourg. Experts warn that even inhaling very small amounts of isocyanates can cause serious health damage. This dangerous toxin is produced when the polymer filters in the IQOS are heated to 100 degrees Celsius, although the laboratory has not yet tested whether this substance can be inhaled by users.

“If users would inhale isocyanates during the use of IQOS, the problem would be very serious! ” RainerKaelin, a respiratory specialist at the Swiss Lung Federation and former vice president, warns smokers.

Kaelin points out that even inhaling very small amounts of a toxic substance can be seriously damaging to health, and that even three months of exposure to isocyanates in the air can still cause illness. In some extreme cases, isocyanates can still cause fatal illnesses a year after being inhaled into the air.

For now, the Philip & middot; Morris Tobacco Company has acknowledged the problem, although its spokesman claimed in the newspaper that users will not inhale toxic substances when using IQOS devices.

A new study commissioned by PMI and conducted by Povaddo, a leading global research firm, shows that nearly eight in ten (79%) people globally support PMI's efforts to work with governments, regulators, and public health experts to phase out cigarettes in favor of smoke-free alternatives.

It can be seen that the new type of tobacco represented by IQOS is expected to gradually replace traditional cigarettes, in fact, compared with the general smoke, IQOS electronic cigarette harmful substances reduced by 90%, because it is by the temperature generated by the electric heating baking tobacco to produce smoke for you to inhale, there is no high temperature and open flames, there will be no production of hazardous substances tar (lung cancer, throat cancer, and many other diseases of the causative agent). When you want to smoke, you just need to take the heating rod out of the charger, put the special Marlboro cigarettes in it, long press the switch and wait for a few seconds, wait for it to heat up and then you can start smoking. The difference between it and the general e-cigarette is that it sucks up the taste with your usual cigarette almost no difference, there is not much difference.

After each charge of the heater bar, put in a cigarette, about 10-15 puffs for you to smoke, when it is almost over the heater bar will light up the red light prompt. When the red light goes out, it means that the heating rod has run out of electricity and the cigarette bomb has been smoked. If you want to smoke another one, you need to put the heater into the charger to charge it again, each time charging about 4 minutes, the charger can charge the heater about 20 times with full charge.

. font-family: "Microsoft Yahei"; font-size: 16px;"> Because there is no need to burn and no tar (tar is a stable compound, and smoke containing tar is not volatile), the smoke exhaled immediately evaporates, and after IQOS is smoked, there is no unpleasant taste on the body or in the mouth, so the effect on the bystanders is not so great. So if you are an old smoker, it is absolutely right to use IQOS as a replacement product because it is less harmful than cigarettes, but if you are not a smoker, it is recommended that you do not touch cigarettes as well as e-cigarettes.
